BMEC (British Model Equine Championships) is only four days away. This means panic stations. I am taking 11 horses, however I am still worried! One horse is currently at a friends, as she got a few from me for Proxying etc. The other 10 are already packed but goodness me, it is scary for a first timer!
I have bombarded various friends with lots of questions, coping techniques with my anxiety and just general knowledge for the show. Even though I have been to four shows this year, BMEC is a little different...
BMEC is held over two days with different section on each day.
Performance, Commercial China & Resin, Craft Collectables, CTF and OF.
Custom, Artist Resin, Workmanship, Artist China and Animal Artistry
For me I have six horses showing on Saturday and five horses showing on Sunday. I have my fingers crossed for good placings and a good day. A couple of my horses have previously placed at BMEC in previous years, but ultimately it depends on the judge and competition on the day. I am there for the experience, winning is a bonus.
I am especially looking forward to the super raffle, from what I know there is usually some super duper horses in that! Otherwise the normal raffle will be brilliant, I play tactically, so I know how to win :) I love winning in raffles, it is super fun! :)
I also need to make sure I don't spend too much, I have horses that I am selling. So anything that I sell and gain from that I will be using for new Pon-Pons!!
I am taking my boyfriend with me, which will be nice and I am looking forward to meeting up with hobby friends that I have gotten to know in recent months :)
While I am nervous for the days there, getting there and being surrounded by a lot of people, I reckon most will be too busy showing their horses! I know some members of the hobby are taking in excess of 300 horses with them to show. Which is crazy! But good luck to them!
This post ended up rather longer than intended, expect more from me in the coming days!
Follow my Instagrams @applegarth_models to keep updated on how the day goes. Signal pending, I have been informed the venue has incredibily bad coverage... So you might have to wait until the evening to see what I get up to.
I will be there taking lots and lots of photos, which I would like to upload to my website in an album to reach a wider audience than just Facebook which is where I post the majority of my photos.
To those going to BMEC this weekend, good luck! It will be a good and very busy weekend!
